Giving the wall a streamlined look will provide it with a satisfying clean cut feeling and will give the appearance that the wall design is longer than it actually is, which is obviously great if you have a small kitchen!
Choosing a pale colour will only add to the effect and, if you choose materials with a glossy finish, it will bounce off light which will brighten up the entire room.
